Who We Are
A Century of Industry Expertise
Goodier is an American story of entrepreneurship, innovation, and unwavering commitment to our customers. In 1912, a chemist and registered pharmacist, E.J. Goodier, began selling personally formulated face creams from his drugstore in Beaumont, Texas. He opened his first dedicated cosmetics laboratory in 1922, and, in 1923, he relocated the growing company to Dallas, where it remains today. Over the years, he was an industry frontrunner, pioneering sales through various channels: department stores, direct door-to-door selling, mail orders, and more. Early on, one of his most popular items was the Goodier's Professional Nurses' Lotion.
Goodier has been the growth engine for many nationally known brands, including Mary Kay Cosmetics, which transformed career opportunities for women while building a trusted reputation as an industry innovator, developing and manufacturing numerous award-winning products.
Today, Goodier is a premier CDMO+ partner for clinically efficacious performance skincare and the collaborator behind four of the five market-leading physician-dispensed skincare brands consumers love. Celebrating 100 years of excellence, the company remains true to the golden rule on which Mr. Goodier founded the business: “treat the customer like you want to be treated and make the best product you can make.”
A History of Innovation
Early Years (1920-1960)
Goodier’s roots were in manufacturing medical products, cosmetics, and other preparations. By the 1930s, the company offered the largest line of cosmetics produced in the Southwest. The Goodier name represented superior quality, fair dealing, and courteous service. The company sourced materials from around the world, including grasses from East India, herbs from France, and balsams from Morocco, to “create the romance of an endless search for beauty.”
Mary Kay (1960-1980)
In 1968, Mary Kay Ash partnered with Elwood Goodier Jr. to realize her vision for changing the future for women. Goodier produced a significant portion of Mary Kay® products and established the first Mary Kay® manufacturing facility on Regal Row in Dallas.
Muller Brothers (1980-2010)
Goodier continued to diversify its contract manufacturing business through the ‘80s and ‘90s as Mary Kay grew and opened its own manufacturing facilities around the world. At the forefront of innovation science, Goodier was recognized for its Innovation Center of Excellence, along with its team of R&D chemists, engineers, and regulatory experts. During this period, Goodier began a collaboration with Revision Skincare, a pioneering brand selling medical-grade clinical products to dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medical spas. In 1999, Revision purchased Goodier to fuel its growth. Goodier continued to manufacture for Revision and other companies.
Private Equity (2016-Present)
In 2016, Roundtable Healthcare Partners made a majority investment in Revision Skincare LLC and Goodier Cosmetics LLC, intending to accelerate the company's growth. In 2021, Gryphon Investors acquired Revision and Goodier in partnership with the company’s leadership team. Goodier is focused on expanding its expertise in developing and delivering clinically proven, efficacious skincare products to a global customer base and advancing the company's contract development and manufacturing ("CDMO+") capabilities.

Building a Better Tomorrow
We emphasize environmental, social, and governance measures that address sustainability and chart a responsible course into the future. Goodier is committed to taking action and is engaged in a companywide, cross-functional effort to raise its ESG standing. Some priority focus areas include:
Carbon Reduction: Goodier has aligned with an industry-leading global skincare company in their request for carbon reduction goals (25% by 2025 and 50% by 2030). Goodier’s Sustainable Procurement Policy assures responsibility in every aspect of its purchasing activities, and in 2024 Goodier will shift to a 100% renewable energy electrical provider.
Product Formulation: Under Goodier’s new R&D leadership, the company is pursuing product formulation projects that are centralized on sustainability.
Waste Management: Goodier’s facility, producing less than 100 kilograms of hazardous waste per month, is classified as a Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Environmental Stewardship: Goodier has implemented a formal Cosmetics Environmental Policy that provides transparent information about the management of environmental issues. We are working with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to minimize the impact our business activities have on the planet, and we embrace initiatives that reduce water and energy consumption, support material recycling, and expand low-impact waste removal.
